{"id":9783,"date":"2022-12-16T09:30:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-16T08:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.portail-esclavage-reunion.fr\/?p=9783"},"modified":"2022-12-16T11:44:35","modified_gmt":"2022-12-16T10:44:35","slug":"the-internet-slavery-portal-in-reunionese-creole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.portail-esclavage-reunion.fr\/en\/the-internet-slavery-portal-in-reunionese-creole\/","title":{"rendered":"The Internet \u2018Slavery Portal\u2019 in Reunionese Creole"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>In order to promote the Creole language and enable the whole Reunionese population to access the Internet Slavery Portal, the Vill\u00e8le museum, working in close collaboration with <em>Lofis la lang kr\u00e9ol<\/em> (Creole language bureau) has started work on translating its content.<\/h2>\n<p>In order to facilitate accessibility, we are also offering visitors an audio version of the texts written by our researchers.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we are presenting the Creole translation of the articles published under the section entitled \u2018<em>The Plantation Society<\/em>\u2019.<br \/>\nThe work will continue throughout the year 2023.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lofis la lang kr\u00e9ol La R\u00e9nyon<\/em> (Reunion Creole Language bureau) was set up in 2006 with the aim of \u201cworking towards the knowledge, observation and promotion of the Reunion Creole language in the context of harmonious French-Creole bilingualism.\u201d Since then, it has continued its work of promoting our Reunionese language by organising encounters, exhibitions and cultural events. Our association also carries out important work of structuring the language through research and publications on the spelling, grammar and vocabulary of<em> kr\u00e9ol r\u00e9nyon\u00e9<\/em> (Reunionese Creole).<\/p>\n<p>To this aim, <em>Lofis la lang kr\u00e9ol<\/em> responded favourably to the request made by the Departmental Council, wishing to offer the Reunionese population a Creole translation of the museum\u2019s publications, such as the pamphlet presenting its three museums having the status of \u2018<em>Mus\u00e9e de France<\/em>\u2019, already issued, and now the texts of the Internet Slavery Portal produced by the Vill\u00e8le museum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In order to promote the Creole language and enable the whole Reunionese population to access the Internet Slavery Portal, the Vill\u00e8le museum, working in close collaboration with Lofis la lang kr\u00e9ol (Creole language bureau) has started work on translating its content.
