Since 1998, the society called Capitaine Dimitile has recreated a camp of escaped slaves at the summit. Here, a permanent exhibition retraces the history of slavery and more particularly that of escaped slaves, with a camp of six modestly sized wooden huts. A stele presents three legendary escaped: Capitaine Dimitile, Roi Laverdure and Reine Sarlave.
