Inaugurated on 10th May 2011, the ‘Monument in memory of slavery’ is the work of sculptor Gilbert Clain. Located on the esplanade of the ZAC Avenir in Saint-Louis, it is made from a block of basalt bearing the simple inscription: ‘Monument in memory of slavery’.
